Mrs. Maegan grew up in the studio world—dancing, competing, and teaching for over a decade in nearly every style imaginable. A proud alumna of River City Performing Arts in Decatur, Alabama, she also choreographed and performed in countless theatre productions, show choir ensembles, dance teams, community events, and majorette lines across North Alabama.

After moving to Tuscaloosa in 2003 to attend The University of Alabama, she stayed active in the dance community-choreographing for student groups, teaching dance fitness classes at the UA Rec Center, and continuing her training in adult classes. In 2008, she met Ms. Tessa in an adult tap class, and the two quickly bonded over their shared backgrounds. Mrs. Maegan often said that if her child ever danced, she hoped it would be with Ms. Tessa.

That dream came true in 2021 when her daughter, Eliza, began Tiny Toes with Ms. Kristen at 3D. Eliza quickly fell in love with dance and joined the CORE company the next year - dancing under Ms. Tessa’s direction and throwing Mrs. Maegan back into studio life.

 

While she has long been a part of the 3D Family as our resident event planner and Shop3D manager, Mrs. Maegan officially joined the 3D staff as receptionist and building coordinator in Fall 2024. 

 

By day, she is a professor of Computer Science and Educational Technology at The University of Alabama; by night, she’s at the 3D front desk- where she blends her tech skills with her dance background to manage communications, assist parents, streamline systems, build graphics, or jump in wherever needed—rhinestoning costumes, prepping for the next big event, or just being dance mom to her tiny dancer.
